My name is Allen Ingram, and I have been in the Food and Wine business for 25 years. Growing up in the UK and travelling to France frequently as a young man I was lucky enough to be exposed to the food and wine culture that would play a big part in my passions for both great food, and great wine. Since moving to Vancouver in 1995 I have run a handful of restaurants and wine programs, as well as earning my Basic Certificate through the Court of Master Sommelier of America. I have worked with famous chefs such as Robert Sulatycky in the Five Sails Restaurant, who came 4th in the Bocuse D'Or World Cuisine Competition in 1999, and won the Prixe Viande (Best Meat Platter). I also run a private wine buying club.
My passion with food and wine is something that I wish to share with others, whilst hearing their own stories. We would love BCFoodies.com site visitors to share recipes and pictures of their cooking experiences on the site. We will be adding more functionality to the site including a blog section for chefs and sommeliers and managers, as well as other industry workers.
Another goal we have is to support the best of the local suppliers and retailers. So sharing the locations where you buy your favorite products available in BC (especially in Vancouver). British Columbia has some of the best organic farms, amazing wineries and talented chefs anywhere in the world so BCFoodies.com is committed to showcasing the best of whats available to you!
